AIRkart Driver Programme
Giving you the tools to succeed
-
Driver Journey
Whatever you age or experience AIRkarts will work with you to bring out your best and maximise your success on track. Bound by MSUK regulation, karting categories start with Bambino (6-8yrs) then Cadet (8-12 yrs) we provide the perfect introduction to kart control.
From there you move to Inter (10-13yrs), Junior (12yrs+) where we maximise speed and race craft, then onto Senior (15yrs+). We also cater for categories for older/heavier adults.
-
Karts & Engines
We currently run Rotax and X30 engines for all UK kart age classifications. You can buy your own or rent as part of your AIRkart package.
The team have a range of chassis and engines for test day and race weekend hire. All team equipment is kept in top condition and we work closely with engine builders to ensure maximum engine performance is achieved.
-
Championships & Test days
Drivers can choose which championships they wish to enter. We regularly compete at Whilton Mill and Kimbolton club rounds and the national SuperOne championship.
We will work with you to design a structured testing plan. This can be done at a number of venues or over a number of months to suit your budget. Please contact to find out more.
-
Driver Coaching
By identifying a driver’s weaknesses we can work with them to maximise their potential and develop their feedback skills to improve their performance.
Alex and his team of mechanics are all experienced kart drivers who bring their years of success and knowledge to the young drivers in the team, working together to maximise each individual’s capability as well as the whole AIRkart team.
-
Data & Camera Analysis
Through on-board and external camera analysis combined with state of the art data logging, we are able to review a driver’s performance using a structured approach.
We use experienced mechanics and data engineers to provide the driver with all the information and guidance they need to develop and improve their racing skills.
-
Mechanics & Maintenance
If dad (or mum) wants to be your mechanic that’s fine with us, but if not we’ll provide a dedicated 1-1 mechanic for any test day or race weekend.
Preparation and maintenance of team and customer equipment is carried out at the AIRkart workshop facility, where we are able to service and prepare karts to be ready for testing and racing. We also keep an extensive range of parts at the workshop and on our race truck.
-
Equipment & Clothing
You’ll need some specific kit before you can go on track. This includes a helmet, race suit, gloves and ideally kart boots. We’d also definitely suggest a rib-protector to avoid bruises! Whether new or used we can help you source everything you need.
-
Licenses, Rules & Safety
To compete in a championship you’ll need to apply for a racing licence from MSUK. The type will depend on your previous experience and where you plan to compete. You’ll also have to prove you understand the different warning flags and safety procedures. Don’t worry we will help guide you through the process.
-
Payment Structure
We can tailor make a package to suit your budget and needs from kart storage to complete race weekend support including chassis and engine hire, one-to-one mechanic and driver coaching. Get in touch to discuss pricing.
